Does the office in Fort Myers Florida have a drop off mail box we filled out a form and you guys never received it by mail I want to personally drop it off is this possible?

  16. Jun 11, 2021

They aren’t going to call you back, answer the phone or help you. They’re attempting to use this Covid19 for the reason the office is closed.

  17. Jun 3, 2021

About 2 months ago we contacted the Ft. Myers office as our Annual Income has decreased in retirement and this would affect the Medicare part B Surcharge. We submitted all the necessary forms and received a statement as to what the new deductions would be along with new monthly SS starting in May and the small check to each retroactive to 1-1. Mine was fine, wife’s SS payment went to $0. Anyone on the planet could figure out someone made a mistake but first guy we had was so far off base we hung up. Makes no sense, since mine was fine yet we had to go back to square one with person in FM who handled it in first place. Someone in charge there needs to get to bottom of this. Problem is how do you know who is in charge. You work your whole life and you should be treated better. It’s our money

  21. Apr 13, 2021

I need to change my name and it’s ridiculous, you expect me to mail in my marriage license and documents through the mail and hope you send it back. I have a year to change my name for free. Open up your office already. This is ridiculous.

  22. Mar 29, 2021

I recently got married and need to change my name. I have the marriage certificate and believe I just need an appointment to come in and complete the process. Please advise.

  23. Feb 9, 2021

This is possible the WORST office. I have been dealing with them for 8 months and not been able to accomplish anything. You are on hold for not minutes, but hours, they disconnect or hang up.... ADVISE, Get an attorney if you want anything accomplished.

  24. Jan 28, 2021

Ya'll need to get it together over there. NO ONE is doing their job that I have come in contact with. I've sent in the same application and supporting documents 6 times only for you to send it back asking for the same things. My number is on the application. How about you call me and stop wasting my time. I sent in original certified copies from Court, my application, my actual driver's license only for you to send something back saying you need originals. I can not get in touch with anybody. My daughter has been trying to have her name changed so she can buy a car, register it and get her license. This is a mess.

  25. Jan 12, 2021

I did not receive my Social Security Benefit Statement for 2021. My wife received hers in NJ because our mail was forwarded from Florida to NJ because we were in NJ for the Christmas holiday. We are back in our permanent home in Florida now and I still have not received my statement. I tried calling but the wait time to speak to someone was 1 1/2 hours. I am ill and cannot do a wait time like that.

  26. Jan 8, 2021

I received a call this morning, claiming fraudulent activity on my Social Security number. Allegedly occurring in Texas, where I’ve never been. The person asked questions which I refused to answer. Then she said she would take this case to the FBI, and I asked why they didn’t do this in the first place, instead of contacting me. She also insisted she would close my Social Security account. I told her she could not legally do that and she insisted she could. I refused to listen to her tirade and said it was a scam and she finally hung up. I did call the Social Security Office afterwards and got an email address to report.

  27. Jan 6, 2021

For a couple of weeks now I have been trying to reach the Fort Myers SS office located in Colonial Blvd. due to a letter received threatening to cut back on my monthly insurance due to overpayment, this is a mistake and I have all the proof needed, however there is no way possible to reach anyone either by phone, in person or via email. This is a serious matter when this agency threatens to cut the only monetary means I have to survive, but yet they are not functioning to assist the public. For public office that is paid by tax payers, they sure are lacking to assist. This situation is causing me unnecessary stress to my already deteriorated health. Please am asking for the correct contact information to be provided so I can respond accordingly, I need an appointment as soon as possible to present my case. Thank you.

I had my SSI check put into Suspesion over an address change that I planned on changing back to my Florida address (A year and a half ago). Last month, I took care of the address change with the local office and now I checked with the main office and they changed the address also but it wont go out of the action of "suspension." So, for the second month in a row, I havent received my check. In December, I did finally get my check on the 18th instead of the 1st. Now, I dont even have my Medicaid. I MUST go to the ER DUE TO A NASTY FALL IN MY HOUSE!! I cant even go to the Dr.! Do I even have food stamps, that are due to use tomorrow, the 4th? I have gotten letters, in the mail, saying I will be getting my SSI this month, seeing I changed my address with the local office (in fact I got one today saying I'd be receiving it.... .that was the second notice). I can NOT get ahold of my case worker, I've called her two days in a row, no answer and no call back. I seriously have needed to be seen by a Dr. since the 30th. I have hurt myself pretty bad and I am having incredible pain and I also have Bill's to pay before I start getting NSF fees on unpaid Bill's because my monthly SSI check hasnt been deposited into my checking account. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Horrifying experience! SOMEONE FROM ss LEFT A VOICEMAIL WITH A NUMBER NOT IN SERVICE AND THEN LEFT A 4 DIGIT EXTENSION # WHEN IT REQUIRES 5 DIGITS! AND THEN I CALL BACK THE FORT MYERS OFFICE and it says I have to wait 55 minutes??????!!!!!!!! what the hell is this crap?????? I don't know what these people want with me as they put me through 7 months of stress already. Now here they are back again giving me more damn stress. Can these people leave me alone???? Very unprofessional to give the wrong number and wrong extension. How utterly sad.
