Why can I not get anyone to return my phone calls? My husband passed away on September 2, 2020 and I contacted your office immediately. I furnished all the information requested but I have received absolutely nothing. It has been 6 weeks and I have no income.

I am trying to schedule an appointment to go over my upcoming benefits at the Abingdon SS Office. I have tried multiple times to reach someone to do this and the wait time is always 30 minutes plus. Is there another way to do this besides the 800.772.1213 number?

To make an appointment you have to call.. Its the 21st century, why isn't this online yet? Waiting for over an hour JUST TO MAKE AN appointment.. And that is providing someone actually answers the phone. Today I called 3 times (first thing in the morning, late morning, and late afternoon) and the first 2 times I was told that no one would answer my call and it hung up. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I know y'all are busy, but dang.. Make your lives and ours easier and put some of this crap (LIKE MAKING APPOINTMENTS) online.. If Dr's offices can do it and survive then you can too!

Went to office on 02/02/2018 waited a couple of hours...Ms. Lynch was wonderful, and asked me to sit and wait and someone would surely help....but still no answers or help to either of the issues that I went in there for...ridiculous! Yes, I missed a full day of work unpaid to use up my gas, time and STILL no solution to my issues. So now I have to miss yet another day for a solution that I MIGHJT get an answer to an issue that I have been waiting for 3 months??? Are they serious? I have sent back many letters, one certified, but apparently they were lost and still no contact with me about all the letters I sent to them. I am not missing anymore work to sit in that office for nothing...I have an idea, come to my house and I'll let you sit on my porch for a couple hours and then come tell you that you will hear from me in 30 days after they wait 3 months for an answer which is ridiculous...BECAUSE I AM HIS WIFE AND I AM LEGALLY MARRIED TO HIM AND NOW HE IS DEAD! Thank you for making this even harder on me than it is! I and my dead husband have worked thru out our lives and we deserve respect!!! I didn't tell you to wait 3 months or longer before I paid my social security taxes did I? Did I mention he died because he couldn't afford his Type II Diabetes meds and Heart meds because Medicare wouldn't cover it? And he paid for Medicare out of his SS check every month, how does that work???

Your customer service is HORRIBLE. I received a letter indicating that you need to speak with me/my son; if I can't keep the appointment, I should call. What phone number would you like me to use, since you didn't provide one? I Googled the Abingdon MD office, got the 800 number (why is there no local number to call?), and have tried repeatedly over the last week to get through. Each time that I call, I'm greeted with the 5 minutes of absolute nonsense that doesn't apply to me (I don't care about the immigration policy, I'm aware of the COLA situation, am aware of the OMB paperwork reduction act). After 5 minutes, I'm asked to provide a SSN, then the automated system informs me that I can wait 40+ minutes to speak to a representative, or have a call back but I cannot be called back at work. I have a full time job, and do not have the luxury of waiting on the phone for 40+ minutes. There needs to be an email option where I simply state (1) I can't make it on the date provided, and (2) would like an appointment on one of these dates. How hard can that be for one of the largest Government agencies? How about a simple telephone number reserved for appointments only? Again, HORRIBLE experience - I don't wish Social Security on anyone...
