Is there a local 828 contact number for Soc Sec? Residents in Adult Cate Homes are not allowed to dial out toll free, thanks,
Mr. Miller was great!
I contacted the phone # listed online for the Asheville, NC; after a 45 minutes wait to connect with an agent I got cut/-off and disconnected. When i called a 2nd time, I expected the same thing to happen again, but, i fortunately got connected with an agent after about 10 minutes. HOORAY! This wonderful SSA agent, Pamela Johnson, was patient. I was somewhat frazzled with routing #'s etc) she was enormously helpful and calm and knew exactly what to do and within less than 10 minutes she notified me that because of an 'incorrect address' that direct deposit was returned by my bank. I immediately spoke with agents at my bank. I sincerely hope that someone, somewhere will receive and acknowledge this Review - both the good (Pam Johnson), the bad & ugly (attempts through numerous long waits on phone, inept bank agents and many hours trying to negotiate the ssa's terribly difficult website.) to make the effort to connect with a knowledgeable and accomplished agents much user-friendly!
we've tried to reach the asheville, nc social security office 5 times, so far, this morning, we've been disconnected each time. 4 times before talking to a representative...and once while speaking to a representative...with no way of getting back in touch without going through it all again.
I just applied for Medicare and need to bring my birth certificate to my local SS office. But you don’t take appointments. What should I do?
I waited for 11 minutes and nobody answer I need an appointment immediately
I am suppose set up a phone appointment for my claim, the numbers they provided are all disconnected due to covid, plus I tried about 10 other phone numbers. and the recording disconnects me because they have to many calls. I have no way of talking to someone and time is running out .
NEED A REPLACEMENT SS CARD
Just got off the phone with your automated service. I moved from Vermont to North Carolina. You are sending me verification of income to get into an apartment.
It shouldn't be so difficult to just change a bank number for direct deposit. It does not seem very safe to put all my SS info into a MySS account (which isn't easy either) especially given the increase in hacking, so I want to do it safely at an office or via telephone, but no way-- one can't get through for hours to make the change or to make an appointment. Wait time 1hour and 15 minutes!! Absurd!!
I just wanted to give Pamela a shout out, and thank her for all her help this morning with my husband's issues. she was such a joy to talk to. especially after the nightmare that he had with a different representative the week before (didnt get her name, im afraid). the previous person was disrespectful and just this side of hateful. she wouldn't allow my husband to speak. not even to tell her what his issue was. she created more issues, rather then clear up the questions he had. Pamela, on the other hand....was pleasant, friendly, helpful, patient, funny, respectful and informative. all while also helping her coworkers. this woman deserves a crown!!!
I really hate the social security office-- they used to treat me good when I first signed up and the first couple years but now they are horrible! I have been calling for months about them taking money out of my account for medicare-- which they promised they wouldn't do-- and cannot get in touch with them. Today, they said they would call back in 1 hour and 15 minutes!! Just ridiculous! Do they think we don't have a life and can just sit around waiting 1 1/2 hours for their return call? When I call the 800 number, they say I give the wrong mothers maiden name, or whatever, as if I don't know my mother's maiden name! and so refuse to help me. I have no car so going there is real difficult. I know why they do this-- they don't want to talk to us because they don't want to give us our social security benefits...
