I am 59 years old and on ssi was wondering when I would be eligible to receive Medicare, at what age.

I have applied three times online for my social security. I never get the call back with more information to come. I want an appointment to come in. This is so unsatisfactory. I call and get hung up on every time. When can I get my benefits?

I applied for a social security number for my new born daughter with all the required original documents(my American Passport my wife’s driver’s license and my daughter’s medical record) as requested by the representative I spoke with on the phone. They sent back the original documents with a letter that said they will review the application and get back with us with the decision. A week later, they sent a letter that said that they cannot issue my daughter a social security card because I haven’t given the documents needed to issue one. What other document(s) do you need? I don’t know why I need to go through this unnecessary hassle to get a social security number. I should not even have to do anything if the hospital where my daughter was born did what they supposed to do in the first place. Very frustrating.

What all you need to obtain a social security card and have no Identification to show other than my birth certificate

  5. Apr 5, 2021

I’ve called a couple of times in attempt to help my son get a new social security card. He doesn’t have an ID. To obtain an ID he has to have a social security card. Therefore he is in a catch 22. He is 35 so he doesn’t have any school records, he hasn’t worked in over 2 years, and he hasn’t been to the doctor in 5 or more years. I asked if some legal or court documents would be accepted because he has been incarcerated in a WV jail recently. I was told no they were not acceptable. My poor review is due to the attitude of the office staff. They were short with their answers and rude. I felt like they was just wanting to end my call. I don’t feel like it is their job to make me feel uncomfortable because my son is needing someone to advise him how to obtain a social security card with the obstacles present in his life. I feel sure this situation has presented itself in the past and at some point an answer hopefully was found but nobody has been willing to investigate out problem and help us find a solution. I am disappointed that I felt like I’ve been looked down upon and was spoken to in a rude manner, not once but at least twice, over this situation. Thank you for hearing my complaint and if you have any suggestions to rectify this problem, I will be happy to entertain them. I have a suggestion for your staff. Treat people with respect and kindness because you have no idea what life is like for the person you are speaking to. Someday you may be on the other end of that conversation and I’m sure you would appreciate the same in return.
