Thank you for the great information about my ss card
I am sending this because I am rather annoyed. I just called your office on behalf of my sister who is special needs and I act on her behalf. Today she got a letter saying she had been over paid by more than $9,000 and never was I told only $2,000. While speaking to a representative all I was trying to do was to get to the bottom of this matter and I could tell from the beginning that the woman I was speaking to was going to be difficult and I said during the conversation that I was not trying to be difficult. During the end of the conversation I mentioned that 'you people' meaning Social Security was not doing recipients any favors by providing COVID checks if they have a limit of only $2,000. At this point the woman I spoke with became very confrontational at which point I stated that there was no reason for her to be rude and I hung up as I am not going to be talked to that way. Her attitude was inappropriate and there is no excuse for it especially when I never raised my voice nor was I rude to her. I reacted as any person would in my situation and probably reacted in much more calm and subdued manner than most would have.
Rep was very nice and very helpful in changing my address
do not send in anything by mail , it will be shredded. then good luck getting a new one when you apply for it because they will give 10 thousand reasons not to do it for you. pretty sad. I have been waiting over a month now for mine , especially since a good job has been offered and I cant apply due to this.
