I have been on for 30 minute wait phone calls. To be told at the end that the call volume was high to please call back later. Also, the website just constantly kicks me out and tells me that I can’t sign in even with the code that it sends me.

I have been on the phone with the automated system and on hold waiting for an agent for 25 minutes and it hung up on me because of your high call volume. I need to speak to someone to make an appointment as there’s no link to just make an appointment and I get hung up on. I’m not at all happy with this place. You first make it to where you need an appointment to come get a social security card and it’s impossible to do so unless I come sit there for an hour waiting for my number to be called and still have to leave and come back another day. Some people live an hour from you and can’t just do that. This is a problem and needs to be addressed.

Do I need to come to your office to apply for social security?

  5. Aug 3, 2024

How do you make an appointment on line? Surely, telephone is not the only way. Please advise.

  6. Apr 3, 2023

this whole sit up to get in touch with a real person is ridiculous. Being on hold for hours is beyond me.

  7. Dec 4, 2022

I need a copy of my social security statement, can it me emailed to me or sent directly through mail, or do I have to come in?

  8. Dec 13, 2021

I sat on hold for over 10 minutes. Then it rang numerous times, and went silent. I am currently sitting and waiting for someone to answer my call.

  9. Oct 25, 2021

I am so frustrated. You cannot get a hold of anyone in the office. It just rings. and rings. and rings.

I need to make an appointment to change my name on my social security card because I am now married.

My mom has an appointment to get her first social security number & I was wondering what she will need to take to the appointment!

  12. Jun 11, 2021

Getting what you need done with the SS office is pretty easy. There is a form for just about anything you need. I see a lot of people on here asking how to change your name. All you need is the SS5 form, and follow the instructions on the form. All you need, if you get married for example, is that form, a copy of your DL and a certified copy of your marriage license. You can get a certified copy of your marriage license through the County Clerks office for about $5 a copy.

I have recently remarried. I’ve called my local SS office but no answer. My question is ; how do I get an appt to see about changing my name on my SS card and to inform SS that I’m married? Is there a form online that I can send in or send any info online to SS?

I have changed my resident status from PERMANENT RESIDENT to US CITIZEN BY NATURALIZATION. Do I have to go in person to update my SS information at the office in Fayetteville or Can I do it on line?

  17. May 1, 2021

Always a helpful experience the past few times. I moved to NWA a couple of years ago and although it’s the only office that serves all of the NWA area which means they have way to much to handle and probably and unreasonable work load for being the only office. My last two phone calls have gone well and they have done there end and let me know what they need from me. And that’s all I ask for that they do their job and let me know my part so I can do what I need to do.

  20. Apr 15, 2021

My wife is turning 65 in June 2021 and she is in the process of applying for both her Social Security benefits and Medicare as she is entitled to do. However, the Social Security Office in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Joyce Road is not open on Tuesdays or Thursdays, but there is no signage on the building, or information on website why Social Security is not operating according to posted hours of service. Americans and Green Card Holders deserve better treatment from our Government Agencies.

We want to now how to get my daughter social security card

  22. Feb 26, 2021

My wife went into the office today, and it was miserable due to the police/security guard on duty. He harassed my wife to the point of breaking. Enough to where I am thoroughly upset with the entire office. She tried for compliance by wearing it but with her glasses fogging up and the mask riding down her nose on accident, my wife was having a rough time anyways, and this police officer did everything he could, but help. To protect and serve, right? I hope everyone else in the office is better than him because he ruined my wife's visit there. She had to leave, and was threatened that he would arrest or detain her if she didnt quit asking questions. I am very sad and angry this happened.

I had a phone appt and never received the call. I also called 877-694-5493 and sat on the phone for 15 min and then it went silent. I need to get in touch with someone regarding Medicare and SS. I am 64 and will be 65 within 2 months. I have been trying to get this information for a month and half and still haven't been able to do so. This is frustrating trying to obtain information thru the agency.

With it taking so long to receive the awards letter it presents a problem for applying for health care, you need that info to apply. This is an issue for some of use that are currently seeing a doctor or have prescription medicine that is needed an we cannt afford to pay full price.
