I wanted to know what I needed to do in regards to changing my name. I just got married.

  2. Jan 20, 2022

I am waiting for them to send me a form that I must fill out for my appointment, and nobody answers the phones at the port saint lucie office. There is no way to communicate with someone in this office, I don't know what I should do?

I’ve been trying to get ahold of these people all morning, and other days , 4 calls later all 30 minute wait times then was disconnected each time . Absolutely ridiculous! Just trying to change my last name after my marriage. I sent the form and marriage license to the office in Port St. Lucie and two weeks now with no response or even a person to answer the phone .

  4. Jan 10, 2022

I have called throughout the entire day. One of the wait times was over an hour and half before I was disconnected. But at one point I did get someone to answer the other line. I mentioned that I needed to make a dire need of a appointment for the Port Saint Lucie location. She set the phone down and never spoke through the phone again. And allowed the phone to stay connected through 54 minutes. I decided to drive to the Port Saint Lucie office with the phone connected. But the women must have hung up 3 minutes before I showed up at the door. I was approached by a security guard and he thought it was humorous to decline my need of help to make a appointment. He said there was nothing he could do to help but to tell me to continue to call.

2 HOURS ON THE LINE AND NO ONE IS PICKING UP AT THE PORT SAINT LUCIE OFFICE. DOES ANYONE WORK THERE? I HAD TWO LINES ON HOLD TO GET TO A REAL PERSON NO ONE PICKED UP. AFTER A TWO HOUR HOLD THEY HANG UP ON YOU AND THE PHONE LINE DOES NOT WORK, OF COURSE YOU CAN'T GO INTO THE OFFICE, FOR THEIR PROTECTION.

The first woman I spoke with at this office was horrific. I am my mother's designated payee and I simply wanted to verify the direct deposit account. The woman claimed I was not listed as the payee (even though it is right there on the my social security website and I have been my mother's POA and payee for over 4 years). I told her so and she HUNG UP ON ME. When I called back I got a different woman with an accent. She was absolutely lovely. Found my mother's account and verified me as her payee without any issues and was able to answer my questions.
