Talked with the kindest woman at the Gastonia office. Her name was Ms. Williams. She took her time to explain my phone interview procedure and to get me the first available appointment. She was great and deserved this shout out!
I called a couple days ago to ask about an over-payment amount I'm being liable to pay back due to someone's else mistake and the representative I got I can say was very rude. I do not understand if it's my money I've put into the system how can you have a attitude if I have question about it that's after holding for forty five minutes? Rudely I was told I need to go into the office not knowing if I'm capable to do so or not.
Takes forever to answer the phone if they even answer at all. Been on hold with one number for 35 minutes. Called another and was hold about the same time. Just to make an appt for a name change.

I have been working with Ms Freeman at the Gastonia,NC office and I want to say that she was very helpful. I believe she bent over backward to help me and she was courteous and nice through out the interview.
I just want to know where to mail my Medicare Part B paperwork. I have been hung up on twice after extended wait time on the phone. I have already faxed the paperwork, just need the address to mail original copies
How do I set up an account with social security?
It’s been almost two years since they stopped taking in person appointments - that is ridiculous.
They will not send my daughter or my social security card, I did everything they asked and paid already and no one will send my stuff. They said that my birth certificate is not proof of an ID, I sent proof of my bc & my daughters and my license.
This is such an embarrassment! If you call the 800 772 1213 number you are placed on hold. After you enter the que there is not an informative recording but the recording of a conversation between what I assume is employees in a personal conversation. It is so embarrassing for these individuals as well as this government office. It just reflects on the quality of attention that our government gives to this program.
I need to come get a copy of my awards letter for my job. Do I need an appointment?
I am requesting a new SS card with a name change (due to marriage). Where should I mail my application if I live in Gaston County, NC
WORST SERVICE EVER! The lady who answered my phone call left me on hold for three hours. Absolutely ridiculous.
My grandson needs another social security card. He is now living in Cliver SC. Can he still come to your office in Gastonia to apply for a new card?
Need to make an appointment for updated social security card. How to make appointment?
Are you guys open?
Desperately, I called today to speak to someone at the Charlotte branch but call rolled over to Gastonia. WOW ! I can't even put into words how the lady who took my call turned my entire day, no let's say week, around with her kind, helpful, and sincere attitude to my desperation. I have been immobile without a way to go for almost a month and it's been rough. She gave me a renewed inspiration I am not accustomed to being around. I think she said her name is Ms. Huffstetler. How great world would be if there were more like her. May GOD bless her in a special way. Keep safe and THANK YOU!
I was told to my face if I work again I would face federal prison and then they took half my social security check the person that interview me says that worked for fbi previously,They are very rude also and when I had an hearing by an ALJ a woman she was so very rude and told that she was going to probably deny my child benefits and She did 15 days later I got a letter saying denied. After receiving the letter I called her and had a conversation about my child benefits and I asked her was it because I'm a people of color and she said then to me. Ma'am we put A top head women and man that's of color in here so we wouldn't get this feedback from no senseless people. Really she sounded very racist at that moment and I felt so ashamed
I need help finding out about my stimulus check
Could you please tell me I’ve been getting phone calls from a local number that says my Social Security number has been stopped and that somebody in Texas has used it I figured it was a scam but I just want to notify you.
My fiance needs a new ssc
I had to reach out to this office in regards to a replacement ss card and no matter who answers your call, they are very helpful and pleasant. I will drive a little further just to go to this office.
I needed to change my grandson’s payee. I’ve gotten the same worker twice. She can never do it without his custody papers. I had to go to Social Services and Court House to get copies and she still wouldn’t take them. She is very rude.
