I sat on hold to speak to an employee for 40 mins just to be disconnected. I called right back and this time remained on hold for 38 minutes before being disconnected. I waited to call the local office this morning at 9 am and was disconnected 4 times with in a thirty minute time span. There has to be a better way to reach these people because when I visit the office they claim they are too busy to see me.
The system disconnected 4 times after waiting
This office is awful. I have been trying for 3 days to get someone on the phone. I wait and wait and then the call drops! I am beyond frustrated, something needs to be done with this agency.
This site is not helpful, because I have tried to make contact and the phone call constantly drops. I need someone to help me. The fact that the Hampton office is still closed is crazy considering others are open. It is about time that people went back to work and stop using COVID as an excuse to stay home.
I was told a 15 minute wait before a representative could talk to me and to hold. I hour later still no response. Might as well go to the Hampton SS office and sit therel without an appointment since I can't even get through with a phone call.
I am trying to change my maiden name to my married name and I sent in all the paperwork they told me to which was the social security card application, a photo id, and a notarized marriage license and not only did they send me a letter saying I was unable to receive a card they DID NOT RETURN my marriage license and only returned my military Id. My question and complaint is WHAT MORE DO THEY NEED TO SEE BC I HAVE NOTHING ELSE. We can't even get NO ONE on the line bc they keep you on hold at that branch on 1521 hardy cash Dr Hampton VA and then after you wait 20-30 minutes it just disconnects and so now they have my notarized marriage license which they did NOT RETURN back and I STILL need my name changed but I can't even get them on the phone to find out what more I need or TO EVEN MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND THE SAD PART IS...... THERE IS NO ONE TO REALLY COMPLAIN TO.
Hi- I need to change my name on my social security card. I know the offices are closed to the public, but is there a way for me to do that? I see on the website it says you can send it in by mail, but I'm not very comfortable being without my driver's license for an unknown length of time. Thank you so much, Madeline
