I experienced the same lack of service as in the other reviews. I am severely disabled, so yesterday, a Thursday, my son went to the Johnstown, PA, field office to determine the process for me to obtain a monthly benefit letter, which I need to immediately apply for federal, state, and county services. As I lost my username and password to MySocialSecurity account, I cannot do this online. My son was told we should call (866) 331-7128. We called yesterday and were put on hold. Several times our call was picked up and immediately put back on hold with no explanation until the office closed at 4 PM. Then I was hung up on. Next day, today, I called back just after 1 PM. I was put on hold and eventually told the office was closed. There was no option to leave a message without an extension.
Every time I call the Johnstown Office to request a certification of income for an apartment application I am placed in a phone queue but the office hangs up on me. This is certainly unacceptable for a government office!
I’ve been on hold since this morning …at this point this is ridiculous…why am I still on hold if I know for a fact I should’ve been got in-touch with someone , it’s about to be 12 noon and are y’all intending that I maybe have to wait until 1 to speak to someone. I’m so upset right now this don't make any sense …almost 3 hours and no one picked the phone up. Y’all truly need to get better with this , because the office is not full at all and y’all aren’t on the phone , y’all are literally just sitting there behind a desk and are choosing to not do you job like , my kids need their socials to start school and by y’all not answering it just makes it worst because it’s a need for them to have their socials.
I had an easy time walking in and applying for and receiving my Social Security Card before the covid epidemic.
Been trying for almost 2 weeks to get thru to social security to make an appointment. Made numerous calls to either be on hold for over 3 hours or just to get disconnected.
I called to get information on changing my name on my social security card. The man I talked to was very rude and disrespectful. I asked to talk to someone else, he got really nasty and disconnected my call. I tried to call back, no one would answer the phone.
Horrible customer service! Representative lack respect, kindness, and all around professionalism! I have been trying to get replacement card for the last 6 months. Never can get an appointment
hello, We just got married on July 8th. I would like to legally change my last name but I'm not willing to send all my formal copies to the building. Can I set up an appointment to come in? He is on ssdi and it effects another home and dependents as well. Thanks Christina
I have tried 8 times over the last 2 days to speak with someone to reschedule an appointment. No success.
I been trying to get in contact for two weeks with someone. I’ve been on hold and waited on the phone for 4 hours one day to talk to no one. Contact would be a good communication for me.
