Friendly, patient, professional
Waited over 20 minutes waiting for the next available service rep only to be told all are busy. Then got hung up on. I just wanted to know where to send a W-4V to change my withholding.
I just called Oroville social security office to get 'general' information , but the woman was completely rude. When I asked her name, she hung up on me. Since I had waited 15 minutes to be connected, I just didn't have the patience to do that again. I usually write down the name of the person immediately -- but since this was just for generic general information, I never expected someone to be rude.
I have received a letter from the Oroville social security office, saying that I need to send in a completed form for homeless food money and unemployment payments. I have tried to reach you, but cannot get through. Can I please make an appointment with you so I can ask some questions, and send in your requested forms.
Oroville, California is not responsive in the least. I/we have left at least 10 messages and never receive a call back. Well, when they did call back once and my son, who is disabled, answered the phone and told them what he needed they hung up on him. He was thrown off SSDI for what seemed like an unwarranted reason. We responded and 3 or 4 weeks later we still have not received a response. It may not be important to this office or social security but it sure is important to my son who can't pay his bills and may be thrown out of his home for non-payment. If we call the general SS number and wait 2 hours for someone to pick up, they just tell us to call Oroville. Our son can't hire a lawyer unless he has been off SS for a year or more as it doesn't pay enough for them to take the case unless there is enough money they can collect for their fees. Ya, we need more and bigger government. The bigger the government the less effective they are ...
I was contacted by an agent who told me to call the local number and skip the extension prompts and tell them I am returning their call but the phone system does not ever connect you with an agent and if you use any of the prompts or wait on the line your call is eventually disconnected. After multiple attempts I gave up and tried to make an appointment using the number on this page and that was also unsuccessful. I am an essential worker and I go to work every day. For people to have so much trouble with something as essential as Social Security is completely unacceptable. My issue is important and it is still unresolved.
I was supposed to receive my first social security card in mail, but when nothing happened I decided to give them a call to ask how I could get it. I called for MONTHS! Every single time they told me they are going to put me on a list and the manager will call me back to schedule an appointment. Three months later, the same story. I still don’t have a social security number and they are not doing a better job at solving the issue. Today they just hung up on me when I was trying to explain I need my number asap and nobody is contacting me to make an appointment. Oh, and I seem to miraculously disappear from the list every week or so... very very bad service!
Social Security is an essential part of life in this country so for the phone number to not be updated for butte county and them not responding to emails and etc. after months of trying to get a hold of them is disgraceful.
Your employee Carla is rude. She is the first one at your office that has been so rude and wouldn't give me her name. Hopefully, that won't happen again in the future. She represents your office and didn't do a good job. I just had some general questions.
