This office is terrible. The people working there answering the phones are bad. Avoid it at all costs. Save you time and contact any other office. Good luck.

I feel out the application online to obtain my Social Security Card because it was damaged. I also sent the application with a photocopy of my ID Card and my Resident Card (by mail post office) Do I need something else to do to get my new card ??? I really need it. Thank you so much.

Why is it so difficult to make an appointment? I called the 800 number, listened to several minutes of information about COLA, benefits, etc. when all I want to do is make an appointment for the local office. Then, the wait time is 1 hour 40 minutes! To make an appointment to visit the local office! This is an example of government ignoring the need for reasonable customer service.

Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone line so calling social security is absurd. I've called several times in the last few days, going through automated contortions, only to be told by an automated message no one could take my call so call back. I am trying to make a time-sensitive appointment and there is no way of doing this.

Waited on hold for 30 minutes then someone hung up on me. Thank you, Richard Gallagher

I also called this number and was told the estimated wait time was over an hour! They do offer a call back but you still have to wait. Should not be this difficult.

6/11/2018 1:15 pm. I called the San Rafael, Ca. phone number, 800-772-1213 and was put on a expected wait time of 40 minutes. Had to return to work. NOT ACCEPTABLE!!

Rude and very dismissive, not courteous, no patience and want to end the call as soon as possible. They are not interested in clearing misunderstanding of information.

  2. Posted by User onMonday, March 8, 2021

Terrible. I was trying to help my grandmother with an issue, and the person I spoke to rudely said I had to have my grandmother call in, and hung up on me before I could ask anything else.
